Khao Kheow Open Zoo is distributing icy treats to animals as relief for heat, relaxing animals from stress. Khao Kheow Open Zoo is inviting the general public to enjoy the pelicans, which have migrated to the zoo during the rainy season. A large group of Spot-billed Pelicans were seen flocking to the reservoir of Khao Kheow Open Zoo’s Botanical Garden to catch small fish alongside the resident painted storks, forming a spectacular sight. Chiang Mai Zoo has proclaimed that it will consolidate a naming competition for a baby red-shanked douc monkey, the sixth of its kind in the zoo. Niphon Wichairat the Director of Chiang Mai Zoo said the zoo newly welcomed its new member, red-shanked douc monkey whose sex was still obscure. The Zoological Park Organization will permit free entry to zoos under its care as a gift for fathers on the National Father’s Day. The zoos that join in this promotion include Dusit Zoo in Bangkok, Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi, Korat Zoo in Nakhon Ratchasima, Songkhla Zoo, Khon Kaen Zoo and Ubon Ratchathani Zoo. A baby female pygmy hippopotamus, making her first public appearance on Monday, 29-September-2014.
You can see her in the video bellow, from Thailand broadcaster MCOT, sticking close to her mother, Jona, at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chon Buri, on the Gulf of Thailand near Bangkok.
MCOT says the young hippo was born 02nd September 2014, and is in good health, the fourth pygmy hippo to have been born at the zoo, and zoo staff says she'll have plenty of attentions next month, when schools are out

Thailand - The Khao Kheow Open Zoo has been positioned second in Asia in a top 10 list by Tripadvisor in its Travelers' Choice Awards.

This tender bear named Vali at the Budapest Zoo in Hungary stunned spectators when it saved a dark hooded crow from sinking.
The Youtube video, updated by client Aleksander Medves, demonstrates a bear examining a crow on June 19 (it was put on Youtube a couple of days after the fact). The Zoological Park Organization (ZPO) under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King will open its seven zoos for people in general without charge on July 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
