Celebrating Royal Birthday and Mother’s Day around Pattaya

Thailand is an exciting place to be and it has buzz which stay around for almost all around year. Travelers are no doubt visiting here to make most of the refreshing weather and for other attractions such as crazy nightclubs, adult entertainment, wildlife, posh buildings, world-class architecture, heritage sites, Buddhist temples, historical places and many other tempting places. Not to forget the local flea markets and scrumptious Thai cuisines.

Last week on Sunday 12th and 13th Monday 2012 we had something special for the visitors of Khao Kheow Open Zoo, this time there a birthday of HM the queen along with Mother’s Day was celebrated by the entire nation. Highest dignitaries of Thailand’s government were present as they had arrived to pay respect to queen. Entry of such top-officials added extra charm to the event.  These officials later visited temples and participated in several other engaging official ceremonies, which was held right before the portraits of Queen Sirikit, who is also considered as mother of nation.

Hoopla of his day was observed all around Chonburi province and in Pattaya. People were happily rejoicing the moment with their loved ones. Royal Birthday celebration of Thailand included religious as well as cultural activities, which kept people engaged for the entire two days. Needless to say Mother’s Day celebrations as was power-packed as Queen’s birthday.

Teachers and university students from Bangpra participated in a vetiver grass planting activity, which was held at the local lake to save soil surface from being washed away and to avoid flood like situation.  On the other hand it was one Thailand’s finest, The Royal Cliff Beach Resort that exhibited something unique, which was not experienced by the locals around this area, a classic opera show. Show was organised in collaboration with Bangkok Grand Opera Company.

Bearing the international tourism and other related elements there was an arrangement of an international host and bunch of opera singersto entertain guests.

The competition arranged by the management, took place earlier in the famous Pattaya Floating Market on Sukhumvit Road in Na Jomtien where large number of people participated. It included Mother’s day special with Mother and Child competition. This is where people exhibited their singing and dancing talents to claim prize money of 5,000 baht.

Excitement of the celebration doubled when animals from Khao Kheow Open Zoo took part in various activities. All and all, throughout these two days of fun-festivities zoo was full with an approximate figure that crossed more than 10,000 visitors.
