Waterbuck – Curvy Horned Antelope

Usual perception when some one hears mention of this large antelope is that they live in the water or something similar of this sort. However this is not entirely true. They prefer aquatic areas more because to survive from their predators and this is the prime reason why they are in the waters. Waterbuck is known as Kobus Ellipsiprymnus by the scientific name.

Waterbuck is a large antelope from Bovidae family. They have curvy ears and lines of white patches above the eyes, nose, throat, and mouth. Females of waterbuck do not have horns but males have strong curvy horns. Roughly waterbucks weigh about 300-500 pounds. Life span is about 18 years and gestation period is about nine months.
